I led a tour group to visit this church last year. Today, it is used as a local depot for farmer's tractors. A century ago it drew 2,000 Armenians under it's roof to worship each week.
Is there any way to safeguard this living memorial to the Armenian struggle in the heart of central Turkey? Surely, it remains Armenian property by default. Could we perhaps raise funds necessary to see it's renovation? What a miraculous step toward reconciliation and recognition with the Turks were it's renovation to be approved by the Turkish Government! Whose willing to get the ball rolling?
